The Lakshmi Vinayagar dual sculpture is more than just a creation—it’s a testament to the skill, patience, and devotion of Mahabalipuram’s sculptors. Crafted from a single massive stone, this one-of-a-kind piece features Vinayagar (Ganesha) on one side and Lakshmi on the other, symbolizing prosperity, wisdom, and divine blessings.
Creating a masterpiece of this scale comes with immense challenges. The six-foot stone was carefully placed using four cranes and worked on in a specially rented space to accommodate its size. The process began with Vinayagar, crafted while the stone lay horizontally. After completing one side, the stone was meticulously turned upright to bring Lakshmi to life.
The entire process required precise planning and a vision so vivid it needed no 3D models—just the sculptor’s mind and years of experience. With every chisel stroke, the deities came alive, their divinity radiating from the stone.
The finished piece, destined for a location near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has received immense admiration from clients and senior artisans alike. As the sculptor humbly shares, “I’ve never seen anything like this—two deities on a single stone at this size. It was a blessing to bring it to life.”
This Lakshmi Vinayagar sculpture stands as a symbol of human creativity, divine inspiration, and the timeless artistry of Mahabalipuram.
