Ganesh, the remover of obstacles, holds the weapons pasa and ankusha. The lower hands are in abhaya mudra and holding a bowl of his favourite sweet the modak, offered to him by devotees. His vahana, the mushika (mouse) is crouched at his feet. Ganesha is seated on an ornate seat, under a richly draped mandapam.
